Ongoing Programs & Initiatives
For decades, Arts Davidson County (ADC) has been a driving force in celebrating, cultivating artistic expression, and enriching the cultural life of our community.
Our countywide Student Art Exhibits and SMARTS Arts in Education Program play a vital role in nurturing a love for the arts among students of all ages. In addition, our Summer Art Camps provide children with hands-on opportunities to explore painting, sculpture, mixed media, and more, helping them develop creativity, confidence, and artistic skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Beyond these signature programs, ADC organizes temporary art exhibitions, cultural events, open mic nights, teen-led theatre productions, and community performance showcases throughout Davidson County, bringing art directly into neighborhoods and inspiring meaningful engagement with the creative process.
In 2022, ADC launched an art hub at 202 North Main Street in Lexington, NC creating a vibrant public space for visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, and arts education. This hub serves as a platform for artists, students, and community members to connect, learn, and share perspectives while strengthening the cultural fabric of our county. By leveraging this space, ADC continues to expand access to the arts, foster creativity, and promote collaboration through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and other cultural events.
ADC is committed to developing innovative cultural and educational programs, providing resources to member and community art organizations, and serving as a trusted community resource for arts information, referrals, and advocacy at the local, state, and national levels.
