The Student Art Exhibit is an annual event that features works by Davidson County student artists Grades K-12. Invitations to participate are provided to the three (3) public school districts and independent schools in the county. Eligible artwork includes drawings, etchings, mixed media compositions, paintings, and sculptures. Entries represent art lessons taught by art education teachers that through art reinforce literature, math, science and social studies. All student participants receive a Certificate of Excellence for their entries. Plaques are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place recognition by grade ranges. The exhibit and a reception for students, their families, teachers, and the public is free and is held at Arts | Theatre 202 in Lexington.
