Third Place Productions presents Hairspray, the hit Broadway musical that celebrates individuality, community, and the power of people coming together to create change.


This community production brings performers of all ages together for a high-energy theatrical experience filled with unforgettable music, dynamic choreography, and larger-than-life characters. Led by an emerging creative team of teens and young adults working alongside community mentors, the production reflects Third Place Productions’ commitment to collaborative, community-centered theatre.

Set in 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray follows Tracy Turnblad as she pursues her dream of dancing on the Corny Collins Show while becoming part of a larger movement for inclusion and integration. Through humor, heart, and vibrant storytelling, the musical explores themes of belonging, representation, and using your voice to make a difference.
