Finding Your Story, Writing Your Life

Whether you are capturing family moments or recalling a specific adventure or an important person, this intro class will help you zero in on those moments that matter.

We’ll begin by examining the many chapters of our lives to find nuggets of stories. We’ll then practice the essential elements of memoir writing—plot, scene, setting, dialogue, detail, and more—as we develop our own memories. We’ll write every day, share often, laugh out loud, and relive on paper those unforgettable times. By the end of the class, each student will have a collection of stories and the skills needed to keep writing.
