The Young Artist Scholarship is to aid local students in their professional artistic development, Arts Davidson County established the Young Artist Scholarship (formerly the Stuffer Myers Scholarship) as a competitive scholarship available to qualified Davidson County residents. The one-time $500 scholarship is for continued study in an arts-related degree program at a regionally accredited college or university. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded this year; one for Creative Writing, one for Performing Arts, and one for Visual Arts

Hailey Walker, Music Education (Trombone)

The 2020 winner of the Young Artist Scholarship.  Hailey will be graduated from North Davidson High School and attends Appalachian State University. Hailey wants to pursue an undergraduate degree in  music education from the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. It has been her goal to be a high school band director since she was in middle school. Hailey also has plans to further her education by obtaining her masters and doctrine in the future. Congratulations Hailey!
