Thomas Correll is a 74-year-old self taught artist. He was born and raised in Michigan but has found his home in Lexington, North Carolina for the past 35 years. Before delving into the world of art, Correll dedicated 18 years of his life to being the Foodservice Director at Lexington Memorial Hospital, followed by a 12-year period in the insurance industry, specializing in Medicare plans.

In the winter of 2016 Tom visited The Bob Ross Art Workshop & Gallery, in New Smyrna Beach Florida. This visit sparked a curiosity for creativity and in early 2017 Correll's journey as an artist began with an oil painting class at a local Hobby Lobby, led by a Bob Ross certified instructor. Fuelled by his newfound passion, he honed his skills further by exploring tutorials on YouTube, perfecting his craft of oil painting on his own.

Correll's artistic expression not only reflects his love for nature and landscapes but also embodies the resilience and adaptability acquired through a life of diverse experiences. His paintings depict tranquil scenes, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of the world as seen through his eyes.
